Liquid cooling more efficiently distributes heat over more convection surface area (radiator) than pure conduction, allowing for reduced fan speeds, better acoustics, and higher total processing power.

In other words, it’s more efficient, and often quieter. If you want the lowest possible temperatures, or if you’re interested in a quieter solution and don’t mind a slightly more complex installation process, liquid cooling is probably the best option.

Ease of Installation

Though an All-in-One (AIO) liquid cooler is often more complex to install than a standard air cooler, it’s still fairly straightforward. This system consists of a solid copper baseplate which mounts directly to the CPU, thermal interface material (TIM) is pre applied, the coolant absorbs heat from the baseplate three copper pipes filled with coolant lead out to the copper radiator, the snail fan should then be mounted in such a position that the air stream it creates blows through the radiator fins efficiently dissipating excess heat, the coolant then recycles from the radiator back to the CPU plate. It’s very much up to the installer, but the fan and radiator should be fitted in such a way that the excess heat can easily exit the PC. Since the coolant, and radiator are self-contained in the apparatus (hence the name “All-in-One (AIO)”), it requires very little oversight or maintenance after installation.

Assembly:

Firstly place plastic mounting frame over LGA1155 socket, there are 2 peal off adhesive pads to secure it into place, the fixing holes on the frame should line up with those on the mother board. With the CPU in place carefully lower the cooling unit bracket down onto the CPU, the pre applied thermal grease will bond with the CPU to ensure good heat conductivity, then place the snail fan so the output vent drives air through the radiating fins. Finally secure all fixing screws and connect the power plug of the fan to the mother board.

These cooler units were designed for the INTEL LGA1155 CPU SYSTEM

It supports all available Intel sockets LGA 1150 / 1151/ 1155 / 1156/1200.

The FCLGA1155 (also referenced as LGA1155) socket is supported in the following Intel® Desktop Processors.  Refer to How to Identify Your Intel® Processor Socket for finding which socket your Intel® Processor supports.

  • Intel® Core™ i7-3xxx and i7-2xxx Desktop Processor series
  • Intel® Core™ i5-3xxx and i5-2xxx Desktop Processor series
  • Intel® Core™ i3-2xxx and i3-32xx Desktop Processor series
  • Intel® Pentium® G8xx / G6xx and G2xxx Desktop Processor series
  • Intel® Celeron® G5xx / G4xx and G16xx Processor series

Socket 1155, also called LGA1155, or socket H2, is a Land Grid Array socket that superseded socket 1156. The LGA1155 was introduced in January 2011 along with second-generation Core CPUs, built on Sandy Bridge microarchitecture. The socket 1155 (H2) was also utilized for Ivy Bridge microprocessors, that were launched in 2012. The LGA1155 works with the latest generations of Intel Celeron, Pentium, Core i3/i5/i7 and Xeon desktop and server processors, that have up to 4 CPU cores, up to 8 MB of L3 cache, and operate at frequencies ranging from 1.2 GHz to 3.7 GHz. The socket H2 supports dual-channel DDR3 memory with data rates up to 1600 MHz, Direct Media Interface 2.0 running at 5 GT/s, and PCI Express 2.0 and 3.0 interfaces. Reportedly, the LGA1155 will be replaced with socket 1150 in 2013.

The size of the socket without Independent Loading Mechanism (ILM) is 4.25 cm x 4.25 cm. The socket H2 has 1155 contacts arranged as a grid 40 x 40 contacts with 24 x 16 section de-populated in the centre, and with 61 land contacts depopulated mostly from the socket corners and socket edges. Visually, the contacts look like two L-shaped sections, opposing each other.

This socket 1155 system has been adopted by many CPU manufacturers Celeron, Core, Pentium and Xeon all having the same basic footprint design and therefore compatible with this Intel LGA1155 CPU Cooler System. for lists of these processors go to…..
