Quality Power Supply PCB
These power supplies were intended for use in a TV set top internet box and were made to the highest quality, follow the simple instruction sheet supplied and a very useful, stable 5v @ 2A & 12Vdc @ 2.5A power supply can be yours at a fraction of the usual cost.
PCB Dimensions: 170 mm x 46 mm and is 38 mm high to its highest component.
Purchasers should be aware that these PCB’s require a small modification prior to use which should be carried out by persons qualified to do so, ie qualified electronics engineers.
Instructions for use
Input (240VAC) via the connector on the far left of the PCB there are 2 pins, the top one (marked CON1) is neutral the bottom pin is the live input, if mounting in a metal case it will be necessary to provide an earth!
At the other end of the PCB, 2 sets of wires can be seen. Firstly deal with the purple, green and black loom, – terminate the purple wire it is not required, then the green and black wires need to be connected together, a little solder and a piece of heat shrink tube does the job nicely. The remaining loom of – yellow, black, black, and red wires now provide the output voltages:-
Yellow giving 12V 2.5A. Red giving 5V 2A. Both blacks are common.
A sheet containing the above instructions will be supplied with the PCB.
Study the photographs carefully, if you cannot use the PCB ‘as is’ i.e. a working 12 and 5 volt PSU consider the good quality components that could be reclaimed…
