To suit a 6mm Diameter D shaped shaft. (See photo’s)
The D shaped socket is approx. 11mm deep
Made from a tough plastic the ‘D’ socket on the knob is very durable being reinforced with a ring insert with a high tensile steel base plate
The rotary switch we show in the photographs above has a solid multi switching action which the knob copes with easily.
Please note:- When fitting the knob to a 6mm shaft the tolerance is so tight that quite a lot of force is required, the application of a little grease helps in fitting the knob fully to the shaft.
If replacing a broken knob check that the D shaft is 6mm and most important check that the shaft hasn’t seized….
Very often this is the reason why the old knob broke. If it moves freely then this replacement knob will be fine and as our minimum quantity is 2 – you get a spare!
These knobs are multi-purpose and can be used on any 6mm shaft.
They suit various applications, from the precise adjustment of potentiometers, tuning controls on radio’s etc. to domestic appliance switches, gas cookers electric heaters etc.
Basically if the shaft you need a knob for looks like the one pictured above and the diameter is 6mm, then problem solved.
