“Clip on” style

Snap on to any data or transmission cable to aid in interference suppression.

Clip on ferrite filters prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) in two directions: from a device or to a device. A conductive cable acts as an antenna – if the device produces radio-frequency energy, this can be transmitted through the cable, which acts as an unintentional radiator. In some cases the filter is required for regulatory compliance, to reduce EMI. Conversely, if there are other sources of EMI, such as household appliances, the bead prevents the cable from acting as an antenna and receiving interference from these other devices. This is particularly common on data cables and on medical equipment

These are a medium size clamp to suit up to 9mm cable ie. the standard size cable used on most electronic input power and data transmission leads, TV and digibox down leads,  computer leads etc.

If you have ever wondered what the bulge is on computer or data cables – It’s one of these, moulded into the cable insulation

This “easy snap on” version allows the user to incorporate the filter on to any cable.

FERRITE CABLE CLAMP ATTACHMENT
To reduce electromagnetic noise, place the ferrite clamp over each digital output cable when
making a cable connection.
Install one ferrite clamp per digital output cable.
Some recommend looping the cable one turn so the cable passes through the core, loops around the outside then passes through the core once again, this acts as a kind of double insurance against EMI but if wishing to employ this method remember the bore of the filter clip needs to be large enough to accommodate 2 passes of the cable. These have an inner diameter of 9mm so for 2 passes to be made the cable diameter would need to be 4.5mm or thereabouts.

Recent feedback…

“Wow these neat little ferrites do cut out the unwanted noise, great stuff!! Thanks.”

PLEASE NOTE!

These parts came to us as part of a lot of surplus stock from a large ‘Milspec ‘ type Co. and have been kept in storage for a time, they are however pristine,  stored with us still in their original packaging and ‘as new’ in all respects, the photographs are representative of their excellent condition, and, as with all our products they come with a full guarantee.

If you have similar items to this, or indeed any electronic components that are surplus to requirements please contact us with details.
