This early 2N4122 is a epitaxial PNP small-signal bipolar junction transistor (BJT). It is famous for high-frequency use in vintage test gear like Tektronix oscilloscopes (often mapped to part number 151-0220-00). Available here in the early round-flat TO-106 epoxy plastic package featuring gold-plated leads.
Historically used in high-frequency amplifier and switching applications.
Originally introduced and manufactured by Fairchild Semiconductor, which featured it in their early 1970s transistor catalogue. It was also second-sourced or packaged by alternative manufacturers like Teledyne Semiconductor.
