Genuine and original Synertek parts date coded 8333.
The Synertek SY6502A is a second-source, licensed variant of the classic MOS Technology 6502 8-bit microprocessor.
These were manufactured by the French electronics company Thomson-CSF (now Thales Group).

Context & Usage
During the late 1970s and 1980s, original microchip developers like MOS Technology frequently licensed their designs to second-source manufacturers to ensure production stability and meet global market demands. While Rockwell was the most common producer of the
R6502AP variant, Synertek manufactured these chips to help keep the market satisfied, particularly for industrial equipment, computers, and arcade system boards. It is completely pin-compatible and software-compatible with any standard 6502A processor operating at up to 2 MHz.
