The driver has ferrofluid in the magnet gap for improved cooling.

These units were made in the UK by a small manufacturer called ‘Beyond The Box’ sadly no longer in business. All units have gone through the full production and test process and work perfectly. They are still well packed in original ‘Beyond The Box’ packaging. We have now managed to get hold of the original data for these, see photographs above.These are a real bargain the retail value of the woofers and tweeter without the case adds up to over £175 per speaker unit!

Beyond the Box Information:
2 x 5” woofers (NRSC coated paper cones) and 1” (soft dome) tweeters, all fully shielded Vifa units.
All crossovers are hardwired and bi-wired with a frequency of 3kHz, a slope of 12dB/oct. low pass, 18dB/oct. high pass and voice calls inductance compensated (high-pass section).
All cabinets are reflex type and constructed with a build accuracy +/-0.3mm with 480mm height 185mm width and 257mm depth.
Surround front floor standing speakers
Full range, two way, fully shielded and bi-wirable for 2-channel true High Fidelity and sophisticated home cinema (‘voice’ matched).
Grille
Each speaker has an elegant “fast” grille, designed for grille free “studio reference monitoring” style listening – To eliminate diffraction there are no grille sockets or grooves cut out of the front baffle.
Cabinet
Beyond the Box cabinets are precision hand built to tolerances of +/-0.3mm for tonal authenticity. Only high density MDF is used, 18mm for cabinet walls and 25mm for the baffle for a solid and resonance free cabinet with internal acoustic balance damping by dark hard felt.
All cabinets are of ported bass-reflex design with both front and rear mounted ports engineered to deliver direct low frequency at all volumes.
The floor model is powerfully braced with both vertical and horizontal figure of 8 bracing on all four walls. This eliminates standing waves with fewer and smaller unbraced areas for sharper clarity and extended bass.
Crossover
All crossover are dedicated, hand built and hand tuned. All components are precision audio grade for high load signal integrity and maximum holographic imagery. They are all hardwired pro-duty with all electrical connections made by soldering component leads to each other for durability, to eliminate attenuation and improve the amplifier’s driver control. High quality multi-strand cables connect the network to the drive units.
Four-post gold plated terminals on all models, bi-wirable on removal of gold-plated straps.
Woofers and Tweeters
The 6” bass have NRSC treated paper cones and are reflex tuned in their enclosed volume. The 1” dome tweeters have a linear response faceplate, high stability ferrofluid and a textured fabric diaphragm. Beyond the box cabinets have high rigidity inert polymer injection-moulded single piece chassis mounted with T-nuts.

The speakers are all computer and ear tested and visually inspected to ensure sonic cons
Beyond the box speakers are designed to be the most time coherent, linear and distortion free speakers possible within the resource.
