Description

Inserts 28 pin 0.6″ pitch DIL chips (with care 24 pin also)

These came to us as surplus stock from a large Milspec type Co. where they have been in storage for many years (made in ’86).

We have therefore classified them as new other.

They are however still in their original box with instruction sheet.

Made by Greenwood Electronics Reading under licence from Oryx of N.Y. USA.

The chip inserter comes with a small solder tag screwed to the metal side panel to which an earth strap could be attached to avoid damage due to static discharge when handling expensive chips. To use, firstly earth the tool, then push it down over the top of the I.C. which will be captured and have it’s pins automatically set at the correct distance apart for easy insertion.

The insertion tool is then placed over the PCB or socket and the pins aligned with either the pre drilled holes or I.C. socket below. When in place the I.C. is inserted into its socket or pre drilled holes by depressing the knob. An adjustable grub screw in the sole plate sets the tool for use with either I.C. sockets or bare PCB’s.

Comes with instructions for use dated May ’86, this is a genuine vintage tool, take a look at the photo’s, it can be seen by the way it’s made and the materials used. Ideal if you are working with 70’s and 80’s technology.

This is the last one!

BUT PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ITS 33 YEARS OLD IT HAS PICKED UP A FEW MARKS ON THE SCREW HEADS ETC. PROBABLY BY CAUSED BY MOVEMENT IN THE BOX WHILE IN STORAGE.
