TV Antenna – Game Switch 75 Ohm
Standard UK TV COAX aerial Plug to 2 sockets one marked ANT the other marked GAME
- The switch plugs in to the aerial input socket on the TV
- and allows the user to switch the incoming signal from the antenna or aerial to a games console
These are original parts, having sat on a storage shelf for MANY years.
Add that genuine 70’s/80’s feel to your retro gaming set up.
These switches were used because the game console was connected to the tv via the antenna jack.
Now if you want the game console to appear on the TV you don’t want interference from the tv channels so you have to have a cut-off, this is achieved by switching to ‘game’. When you want to watch TV again you need to re-engage the antenna so you get a signal, likewise this is achieved by switching to ‘ANT’.
That’s why it is called a video game switch. It switches from antenna to the game feed (TV to Game). Back in the day most TV’s only had one antenna jack.
