IEC is the technical name for the input plug used on nearly all computers and loads of other electronic equipment.
These leads can be used to extend an existing lead or to take power from 1 machine to another if an output socket is provided.
-as used on older desk top computers, power for the monitor was taken from an output socket at the back of the computer case.
